Lizzie Borden took an axe gave her mother forty whacks, when she saw what she had done she gave her father forty-one...
Courtney sat straight up in the bed her heart hammering somewhere in the vicinity of her throat. Her body was covered in cold sweat and her fists were clenched tightly in her sheets. She swallowed hard trying to get her heart back into her chest without much success.
She let go of her covers and buried her face in her hands and closed her eyes. A snapshot like image of the last part of her dream immediatelt branded itself on the back of her eyelids.
She was standing on the top of a hill in a high collared white shirt and a straight black skirt her hair down around her pale face like ebony waves her normally medium blue eyes were bright with mischief. Hanging from her hand was a rough wooden handle with an axe head on it...pooling at and dripping from the bottom edge of the blade was a thick substance that was a deep red in color. But worst of all was the flush of excitement on her cheeks and the small smile that embraced her lips like a lover. She looked truely happy standing there in her blood speckled clothes. Courtney pulled herself out of her reverie and reached up farantically feeling hot liquid on her skn she wiped it away shure it would be blood but it was only drool and she sighed in relief. She had fallen asleep again which was not a surprise considering she was hardle getting any sleep with this nightmare playing over and over in her head. how many more time would this run though her mind one hundred? maybe a thousand? she sighed laying back down and coveing herself up with her blanket again though she rfused to close her eyes and sleep.
